We use the Porphyry house system, which is the oldest system of quadrant-style house division. There are a variety of house systems that calculate natal charts differently, which is why you might be used to seeing your placement as being on a cusp.
Our algorithms use the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory ephemeris to find the positions and velocities of planets and other solar system bodies. With that real-time data, it's a little more accurate than most astrology sites. However, we encourage you to use the app and the placements we give you as a starting point for personal reflection, and see where it leads you - always trust your gut :-)
